Great Southern Land Challenge - Entry + Downloadable Bib

With a circumference of 25,760 km, Australia is the smallest of the seven continents, but the largest country in the Southern Hemisphere. This diverse landscape ranges from snow-capped mountains to large deserts to tropical and temperate forests. It is home to the world’s largest single rock monolith (Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, in the Red Centre), boasts the world’s largest sand island (Fraser Island, along the southern coast of Queensland), and is the largest country without land borders.

This beautiful island houses more than 10% of the world’s biodiversity, and due to its unusual ecosystem, many of the species here are not found anywhere else on Earth! It is also home to some of the deadliest species on the planet. But you’re not scared, are you? You’re tough. You’re an Aussie! And you’re ready for a trek through the Great Southern Land. Take the Direct Route (25.76 km) or choose the Scenic Route (257.6 km). And who knows, maybe you’ll see some of our unique Aussie animals along the way.
